Virtual CCD 2024-25

Responsibilities & Expectations

Welcome to St. Michael’s Virtual CCD class! My name is Mrs. Caruso and I will be your instructor for this year. Though nothing can replace the experience of in person learning, I will do my best to provide you with an experience that will be both beneficial and worthwhile. Since I am a teacher in West Long Branch, I know how busy and hectic our lives get when school and sports begin in the Fall. I know you will have responsibilities beyond CCD and I promise to remain mindful of this. I just ask that you make it a point to find a way to make your spiritual education a priority as well. Success in life is made up of small steps in the right direction. Together I believe we can walk together on your journey towards a stronger spiritual foundation.

Below I have outlined the basics of what you need to know to get started.

  • Students are responsible for completing and turning in assignments posted in Google Classroom.
  • Students will be provided with materials that will be used at home in conjunction with assignments posted in Google Classroom. Students should have a Gospel Weekly for each Sunday as well as a Catechism Handbook.
  • Assignments will be posted on scheduled Sundays at 9am. ALL assignments should be turned in before the following Sunday’s posting.
  • Students are expected to log into Google Classroom on Asynchronous meeting dates and follow the directions provided for that day.
  • A schedule of meeting dates is provided below.
  • Should a student fall behind in their assignments, it may be necessary to switch all remaining sessions to synchronous. This would be addressed on a case by case basis.

  • If at anytime you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or through the REMIND App

Grades 1 through 7: Synchronous Meetings

To begin the year, we will hold ALL Virtual classes Asynchronously. As the year progresses it may be necessary to meet as a group through Google Meet. Should this happen, students will be directed as to how to attend the Virtual Meeting through Google Classroom. Should a student be unable to stay up to date with their assignments a Synchronous schedule may need to be implemented and would be assigned on a case by case basis.

Healing After Abortion:

Do you know someone who is carrying the grief of a past abortion?  There is always hope.  The pain and sorrow of abortion does not need to endure for a lifetime. A “Day of Prayer and  Healing” offers the opportunity to experience the love and mercy of God and to respond to His invitation to begin the journey of healing the wound of abortion. For upcoming dates, locations, and confidential registration, or just to talk to a Sister, please call the Sisters of Life at (866)-575-0075 (toll free) orThis email address is being protected from spambots.
